Department of Communication Scholarships

The methods, discipline, and achievements of a scholar are honored and recognized in a multitude of ways.  The Boise State University, Department of Communication is proud to reward worthy students through an application process which results in the presentation of  five major scholarships.  The Department of Communication gratefully recognizes  the following  men and women who have generously contributed to our scholarship program and who believe passionately in promoting excellence in education.

Kenneth R. Davies

  • Open to Juniors or Seniors majoring in Communication,
  • Marketing, Advertising Design or Graphic Design at Boise State University
  • Minimum GPA:  3.0
  • Must demonstrate financial need
  • Must be an Idaho resident

Ted Trueblood Scholarship

  • Open to any BSU student
  • Minimum GPA:  3.0
  • Requires Creative Writing interest and some emphasis on
  • Natural Resources, Conservation and/or Recreation
  • No financial need requirement
  • No Idaho residency requirement

Robert & Marjorie Boren

 BSU Communication Scholarship
*  Open to any Sophomore, Junior or Senior
BSU Communication Major
*  Minimum GPA:  3:0
*  No financial need requirement
*  No Idaho residency requirement

BSU Communication Scholarship
*  Open to any BSU Communication Major
*  Minimum GPA: 3.0
*  No financial need requirement
*  No Idaho residency requirement

Charles Wilson Communication Scholarship

  • Open to undergraduate and graduate BSU Communication Majors.
  • This scholarships will be awarded to a MALE student on odd numbered years and to a FEMALE student on even numbered years.
  • Minimum GPA:  3.0
  • Special consideration to Broadcasting and Mass Communication Majors
  • Must demonstrate financial need
